- Julie’s Story
Smile Pediatric Therapy & Diagnostics is the best thing I’ve done for my children. For the past two years Smile has been treating my twin sons. One of my sons has been diagnosed as Autistic and the other is Developmentally Delayed. One of the many things I like about Smile Pediatric Therapy is that they treat the whole child. They incorporate my children’s interests into the therapy. This makes the sessions fun for my children and they love working with them. It’s a great motivational tool.
In addition to supporting my children’s needs, Smile Pediatric Therapy & Diagnostics has helped my husband and myself. As a mom of challenged children I worry about their progress. Since hiring Smile I am a calmer more focused mom I feel this is due in large part to the daily updates I get on my children’s progress. From these reports I know what they are working on as well what techniques they are using. Smile has even helped me incorporate their techniques at home with my children. This has made our home much less chaotic as well as making me a lot more hopeful of my children’s futures.
All of this is wonderful however, the highest compliment I can give Smile Pediatric Therapy & Diagnostics is the progress my sons have made since working with them. Before hiring Smile my children were attending a special needs Pre K class. After working with Smile, my children have mainstreamed into our LAUSD Kindergarten. My children even attend the after school activities with all their normal developing classmates. This is something that I did not think was possible only two years ago.
I wish every child could have the support we have with Smile Pediatric Therapy & Diagnostics.
Sincerely,
Julie Case
- Roberto’s Story
Over the last year we have come to know Nicole Hajjar and her team at Smile Pediatric Therapy and Diagnostics, in which capacity they are currently engaged in helping our son, Roberto Joseph Fernandez Jr., improve his speech-language skills.
RJ is 5 and the youngest of our three kids. We have two daughters, 14 and 11. We are a very close-knit group and love to spend as much time together as possible and we are all naturally very protective of the little boy in the family. Therefore, it was a difficult decision to let anyone outside of us or the very capable teachers at the private pre-school that he attends, work with him.
But his teachers just couldn’t devote enough one-on-one time with RJ to recognize and address his particular needs. We were concerned that he wasn’t letting anyone outside his immediate social circle see his boundless imagination and charming personality the way we do, so we contacted Smile Pediatric Therapy & Diagnostics.
My wife and I alternate attending RJ’s sessions with Nicole. Both our daughters have also attended as well and what we have all witnessed has been amazing. Nicole is gentle yet firm as she guides him along his path. Her focus has been unwavering. Also her kindness, love of children, and the joy in what she is accomplishing with her work are obvious during each enlightening session.
We have grown to love Nicole Hajjar, the person a great deal and have come to respect Nicole Hajjar, the professional immensely. No one in our family will ever forget the image of Nicole on the floor with RJ drawing pictures for him, taking his hand across the paper and softly guiding him along toward the self-fulfillment he so rightfully deserves.
Nicole has a special gift. We are very grateful that she has shared it with us and we are fully confident that any person or organization that is privileged to be involved with Smile Pediatric Therapy & Diagnostics in the future will feel as equally blessed as we do for having them on your team.
Very Respectfully Yours,
Roberto, Patricia and the Fernandez Family
